A little bit about the Knights.....The Knights of Columbus is the largest Catholic men's fraternal organization in the world with close to 2 million members. The charitable contributions of this organization number in the millions of dollars and thousands of hours each year. As a fraternal society, there is also a world-class benefits arm available to the members and their families.
Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to practical Catholic men in union with the Holy See, who shall not be less than 18 years of age on their last birthday. A practical Catholic is one who lives up to the Commandments of God and the precepts of the Church. Application blanks are available from any member of the Knights of Columbus. Every knight is happy to propose eligible Catholic men for consideration as members.
So, if you are Catholic gentleman, 18 years of age or older, and are in good stead with the Church, please consider becoming a member.
Blessed Pope John Paul II Council #12613.....The Knights of Columbus organization granted a Charter to Council 12613, Saint Cecilia Council, on January 5, 2000. On January 19, 2000 the 32 charter members were initiated and the first Officers of the Council were elected. Richard Benoit was elected the first Grand Knight. The council's name was officially changed to Blessed Pope John Paul II Council, to reflect the July 1, 2011 merger between the parishes of Saint Cecilia and St. Leo The Great.
In additon to supporting our entire parish community, we also proudly support Saint Cecilia's School and the Wampanoag Warriors of the Rhode Island Special Olympics.
